Many of my urban views were painted from the 84th floor of the World Trade Center. Some were painted from my studio in Long Island City.
The architecture and grids of the urban environment give me the geometric framework on which I can explore atmosphere, color, the time of day and weather conditions. These are always changing, so that I can make many paintings of the same view.
